For more than a decade, we’ve imported hanadama pearls from just two sources in Japan. This is the only way to guarantee the pearls have grown for two full seasons – a farming technique known as “koshimono.” This is very important because you want your pearls to last a lifetime, and you want to be able to pass them down from generation to generation. Two seasons of growth guarantees you will.
The pearls in this strand measure 8.5-9.0 mm, which is in the larger size range for akoya pearls. Every pearl is individually knotted on twin silk, and the necklace is finished with a solid 14 karat clasp. At 16 inches, it will most often sit just above your collar bone.
